IT Cloud Academy (on the base of Brain Academy Kharkiv), together with Qualium Systems and SSA Group, held a meetup on the topic “Introduction to Big Data”. The event took part on the 20th of February.
The following issues were discussed during the meeting:
1) What is the big data and how it affects the IT industry?
2) Why there is so many buzz around big data?
3) Who are these mysterious data scientists? What skills and knowledge they need to have to be recognized as data scientists?
4) What issues are solved by a big data?
During the meeting, we have dealt with the key technical terms and a set of tools. We were also able to meet with the two main frameworks: Hadoop and Spark.
The organizers did not expect such a large number of interested listeners, there were not enough seats in the room. The second audience was used for watching the broadcast. The meetup lasted for three hours instead of the planned one and a half because there were many questions from the audience. The whole lecture was recorded and available (in Russian) on YouTube.
